SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. —

Police are searching for the person or people who stole items valued at $2,000 from a Somerset County church over the weekend.

Crosses, brass candle holders and communion wine were among the items stolen from Samuel’s Lutheran Church, which is on Samuels Road off New Centerville Road.

Church members said the brass crosses were given to the church more than 60 years ago to honor a fallen World War II veteran.

The burglary happened sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. As of Monday morning, investigators said they do not have any suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police.
