Construction Winds Down On Elk County Visitor Center

BENEZETTE TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Construction is winding down on the Elk Country Visitor Center in Elk County.

That center is located in the wild elk range around the community of Benezette.

For years, visitors have came to Elk County to see the elk herd at several unconnected viewing sites.

The new center brings that experience to a centralized location.

The center will feature a theater, exhibits and areas to observe the elk.

Officials said construction on the center should be completed by May.

They added that although construction is near completion, the center won't open until August.
