BOGGS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
Bald Eagle Area School District Superintendant Dan Fisher provided a tour to a WJAC-TV crew on Monday to show the progress on indoor and outdoor renovations.
"It's not surprising that someone looking at it from the outside would think, ‘There's no way this is going to happen’, but there will be a lot happening here in the next eight days," said Fisher.
Although there was construction equipment lining several hallways and boxes littered the junior/senior high school building, Fisher said much of the work will be completed in the next few days and cleared in time for the first day of classes.
"The school will be clean, it'll be safe and we'll be ready to welcome all of the wonderful students and staff in two weeks,” said Fisher.
Fisher said crews are completing work in the renovated cafeteria kitchen and have already finished construction on brand new student bathrooms and a refreshed library.
School officials said some ceiling tiles may be missing so work can continue on overhead pipes connected to a brand new geothermal HVAC system, but Plant Manager Don Snyder said there will be minimal interruptions to students.
"I don't see any problem with getting it done for the start of school,” said Snyder. “It may not be absolutely pristine like it normally is, but it'll be done for school."
Fisher said the classrooms, hallways and driveways will be ready for the first day of classes Sept. 7.
