Cuddles For Kids Gets Underway

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. —

Conner Hagin is now a sixth grader at Westmont Middle School. For the past two years, he's made it his mission to collect as many stuffed animals as possible for children who could use a little pick-me-up.

Conner has set up donation bins around the city of Johnstown. They are at the Somerset Trust branches in downtown and Goucher Street. They are also at M & M Salon, Valley Printing, Makin' Waves Salon and the Hair and Nail Studio in Richland Township.

Conner has had great success in the past and has even donated stuffed animals to an orphanage in Mexico.

He's not only getting a lot of local attention for his efforts, Conner is also going to be making an appearance on the Today Show this December as he helps with its toy drive. However, Conner said it isn't about the attention, it's about helping others.

"I want kids to be happy while they are in the hospital," said Hagin. "If they are not with their family, I want them to be with something that they can love and have and hug while their parents aren't there."

Some of the charities receiving stuffed animals include The Learning Lamp, Memorial Medical Center, The Women's Help Center, The Salvation Army and more.
