Curwensville Bridge Now Open

New Traffic Signal Includes Innovative Sign To Alert Drivers To Upcoming Red Light.

Curwensville, Clearfield County —

It's been more than a year in coming, but the new Bloomington Avenue bridge in Curwensville is now open. In addition - a new traffic signal was installed at the intersection of Bloomington Avenue and State Route 879. For drivers heading north on 879, the traffic light comes as somewhat of a surprise after a blind curve, but now PennDOT has a solution. A new sign on 879 will alert drivers before they go into the turn, that the light they are approaching will be red when they get there.

The traffic signal is set to a blinking mode through Monday. It is expected to go into normal signaling mode on Tuesday.
