EBENSBURG, Pa. —

A district attorney says she expects by the end of the week to name and charge a Cambria County Prison inmate who authorities believe strangled his cellmate.

Cambria County District Attorney Kelly Callihan said the state police at Ebensburg are still investigating the death of 27-year-old William Sherry.

Sherry was found dead Saturday night in the prison, and while authorities haven't named the suspect, they said he was Sherry's cellmate and was a state prisoner who had been brought to the county jail so he could attend a court hearing.

State police are calling the death a homicide and indicated that there had been a fight.

Sherry was jailed after his arrest last week for a probation violation for failing to pay court costs, a fine and other violations.
