The Winter Classic is an annual game played in the NHL outdoors. This year's game pits the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Washington Capitols at Heinz field.

It's well-sought-after ticket, and Brooke Thiele and her husband made sure they purchased tickets for her father, Randy Foreback, who is a die hard Penguins' fan.

"You swear at the television and you pound your fist and stomp your feet if they lose but there are always good times ahead," said Foreback.

Thiele wanted to thank her father for helping out her family. While her husband attended nursing school, Foreback let her family move in with him and his wife.

"He didn't charge us any rent or anything. The least we could do is help pay him back," said Thiele.

Thiele paid double the face value for the tickets but says what her father did for her family is worth it.
