Deer Debate Continues

Jefferson County —

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is to decide the 2005-2006 hunting season doe licenses allotment Tuesday. At Monday's meeting, hunters voiced their concerns about what they say are dwindling numbers. A Somerset County hunter says the commission cannot afford to continue to ignore their warnings.

"they'll be depleted to a point where, in our lifetime, I don't think we'll ever see the recovery again," said John Imhoff, of the Pennsylvania Deer Defense.

According to Imhoff, the Pennsylvania Deer Defense would like to see the commissioners micro-manage the deer herd by county, instead of only cutting back on allotments.
