By Brittany Boyer

ELK COUNTY, Pa. —

Dickinson Center Inc. has been providing services to western Pennsylvania for more than 50 years.

The non-profit organization provides a number of services to children and adults with behavioral and mental disabilities.

On Friday, the organization celebrated the opening of its new facility which is located along Boot Jack Road in Ridgway.

Construction crews broke ground for the $4 million facility in October 2011.

Within less than a year, employees were able to move into the new building.

Jack Goga, CEO of Dickinson Center Inc. told 6 News he is thrilled to see the new building is complete.

"This is a wonderful opportunity not only for our organization, but I think for the community to come to appreciate the services that we offer here," he said.

Goga told 6 News, Dickinson Center Inc. has more than 220 employees.  The new facility will be a centralized hub for the company where more than 100 of its employees will work daily. Goga said that they provide a wide array of services in eight counties.

"It's a multi-faceted facility, faceted in the sense that all age groups, all diagnostic categories and pretty much a continuum of community based care work.  The only residential programming that we're offering right now is for our developmentally disabled adults and we have group homes both here and Potter County," said Goga.
