Dogs Are Getting Hit In Bad Economic Times

EVERETT, Pa. —

Bad economic times is taking a toll on everyone, even our four-legged friends.

Bedford County Humane Society President Todd Gates said they found dogs in foreclosed homes, abandoned on highways and tied up to trees.

Gates is asking people to drop off their pets at their local humane society so they can at least feed and house them.

The American Kennel Club and the Upper Potomac Valley Kennel Club are helping humane societies with donations and events to better train dogs looking for adoption.

They even held an event called Responsible Dog Ownership Day, where people were able to learn from the professionals on how to take care of pets.
