Donation Effort For Joplin Victims Organized In Jefferson Co.

BROOKVILLE, Pa. —

Communities in Jefferson County are doing what they can to help those devestated in the Joplin tornado.

Residents have packed a trailer in Brookville with everything from canned goods to a bicycle. Organizers are expecting even more items through Wednesday night.

From 6-9 p.m. people across Jefferson County can head to their local fire halls, where firefighters will be on hand to accept donations for the tornado victims.

Until then, people around Brookville can drop off items at a trailer along Allegheny Boulevard. Organizers told WJAC-TV, Jefferson ounty residents have proved in the past, they'll step up to help their own communities. They added that residents are proving now, that local generosity knows no bounds.

This effort was organized by a local trucking company and the Jefferson County Fireman's Association.
