BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. —

Authorities say a driver will face charges after his truck hit a ditch and crashed on a snow-covered road in Blair County, spilling 17 tons of processed human waste.

Pennsylvania State Police say the accident happened early Wednesday in Antis Township.

State police said the truck hit a ditch and flipped over, spilling its cargo into a nearby marsh.

The Centre Daily Times reports the 27-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries, and charges against him are pending. The Department of Environmental Protection was sent to the scene to supervise the cleanup.
