DRS Lays Off 50 Workers, Cites Order Drop

Officials: DRS Remains Committed to Johnstown

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

DRS Technologies laid off 50 workers on Wednesday and officials blamed lack of work for the cuts.

DRS spokesman Rich Goldberg said it's due to the "flux in customer orders."

Goldberg said he wasn't sure which departments took the hit, but said the layoffs involved both full-time and contract workers.

Last August, DRS laid off nearly a hundred workers claiming the same problem; however, Goldberg said they "remain committed to the Johnstown area."
