DuBois Middle School re-designated as a "School to Watch"

By Brittany Boyer

DuBois, Pa. —

The DuBois Area Middle School is being honored again as a "School to Watch".

The "School to Watch" program was launched in 2007.

The recognition program was developed by The National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform.

Schools are selected for recognition every three years.

DuBois Area Middle School was first recognized in 2007 and again in 2010.

They are the only school in the 6 News viewing area to receive the designation this for 2013.

With now a third designation, DuBois Area Middle School is one of two middle schools in the state to receive the designation consecutively.

School officials said they are proud to be recognized on the national level.

"It just shows that we're doing what good schools do and that we're always working to improve and helping our students be successful," said guidance counselor, Christine Kline.

The school will receive its award at an assembly in April.
