Ebensburg Borough's Budget Will Reduce Certain Costs

EBENSBURG, Pa. —

Ebensburg Borough passed their 2010 annual budget, and the good news is they won't have to raise taxes.

The 2010 budget allows them to decrease sewage and water bills by 9 percent. That means the average customers will save $17 per billing period.

Council controlled costs because departments heads are reducing costs in a few departments, including the public works and police department.

Borough Manager Dan Penatzer said all borough employees agreed to negotiate contracts to help pay for health care.

Penatzer said it's all thanks to the mayor and the council working hard to get residents the pay break they deserve.
