Law enforcement sent a message to drug users in the north central Pennsylvania area Wednesday: Use or sell drugs and you will be caught. A cooperative investigation between the state Attorney General's Office and the North Central Municipal Drug Task Force resulted in 49 people being arrested. Police seized $77,000 in heroin and $3,000 in cocaine and marijuana. The raids also netted $11,000 worth of cash and property. Police say that several of the leads in the investigation came from telephoned tips. They encourage anyone in the North Central region to call the drug task force if they notice any strange activity in their neighborhood that may be drug-related. The hotline is 1-877-244-9147.
