Elk County Restaurant Serves Up Free Thanksgiving Meal

RIDGWAY, Pa. —

People filed in for lunch Thursday at the Pennsy Restaurant in Ridgway.

Turkey, pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce were on the menu.

But there was one catch -- that meal was completely free.

Michelle Ritter bought the restaurant earlier this year.

"I just want to give something back to the community," she said. "With the tough economy, I think people need something like this."

Ritter expected about 70 people to come for lunch.

She said the community has been very supportive of the restaurant since its opening.

"I consider my customers to be my family members," she said. "I just wanted to do something for them."
