Emergency Dispatcher Helps Elk County Couple Deliver Baby

ST. MARYS, Pa. —

Hayden Alexander Heasley came into the world under some very unusual circumstances.

Hayden's mother, Amanda, couldn't make it to the hospital after she went into labor on Tuesday.

Amanda and her husband, Jason, called 911 for assistance in delivering their son.

With some help from 911 dispatcher Jackie Zuback, Hayden was born in the Heasley's living room.

On Thursday, Hayden and his mother were resting comfortably at the Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys.

They were expected to be released from the hospital on Thursday.

In the 30-year history of Elk County Emergency Services, this is the first time a dispatcher has assisted in a delivery.
