The families of a slain woman and her husband who is accused of killing her pled their case Thursday as to who should get the man's assets.
William McTonic, 73, is accused of shooting and killing his newlywed wife, Ruth Ann Henderson, in April.
Henderson's daughter filed a petition to keep McTonic's assets frozen until the case goes to trial, because if he is found guilty, the money and estate would go to her.
The victim's family further said they do not want McTonic's family to auction off his personal items to get him out of jail.
A judge said both sides should submit a written request.
Another Somerset County judge is still considering if McTonic should be released from jail on bond. McTonic's attorney as of Thursday had not specified the grounds for that request.
