Fatal Johnstown apartment fire ruled accidental

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

A woman killed in a fire inside her Oakhurst Homes apartment on Sunday died of smoke inhalation.

 

Crystal Thomas, 26, was killed in the fire. The Cambria County coroner ruled Thomas’ death accidental.

 

The cause of the fire was also ruled an accident by the fire marshal. Authorities said the fire started in the living room and crews were able to contain the flames to one section of the building.

 

An apartment next door sustained some minor smoke damage.
