Feathers Fly Over Advertising For Chicken Sandwich

ALTOONA, Pa. —

The Sheetz convenience store chain is taking heat from critics who say its new campaign promoting a fried chicken sandwich contains foul language. Sheetz unveiled the "Crispy Frickin' Chicken" campaign at the beginning of February. About one-third of the company's 346 stores, including several in the Alleghenies, carry the sandwich. A company spokeswoman told Channel 6 News the campaign is aimed at young adults, and the company did not intend to offend anyone. Sheetz will take down the billboards on Wednesday, when the campaign is scheduled to end.
