Felony Charges Dropped Against Cambria County Police Chief

Northern Cambria Police Chief Kevin Stanek will return to work at the police department.

Two felony offenses along with several misdemeanor charges were filed against Stanek in April.

A Susquehanna Township police officer said Stanek drove drunk and assaulted him after an early-morning incident.

The officer said he was forced to use pepper spray on Stanek to get him under control.

Because Stanek waived his right to a preliminary hearing, the District Attorney's Office agreed to drop felony charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats.

Since Stanek is no longer facing felony charges, the borough council said they are required to allow him back to work.
