Fire Causes Evacuation At Ebensburg Restaurant

Fire Crews Battle Fire At Off The Rak Restaurant

EBENSBURG, Pa. —

Fire crews were sent to Off The Rak in Ebensburg after a fire broke out in their kitchen.

Crews said there were 50 people eating lunch inside on Friday when it started, but staff had them out before anyone got hurt.

The fire was put out fast, but there was still extensive smoke damage to the kitchen and parts of the restaurant.

Officials said they believed the cause is electrical in nature, possibly an ice maker or a dryer.

Crews told WJAC-TV restaurant owners need to repair the kitchen and it could be a while until they reopen.
