Fire Crews Investigating Arson Fire

A state police fire marshal believes someone intentionally started a fire at an apartment building in the West End section of Johnstown.

Fire crews were called out to the 100 block of Fairfield Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Neighbors said flames were shooting through the roof.

"It's horrible, there's water everywhere. Pieces of ceiling everywhere. Basically out living room and dining room are completely ruined," said Erica Eckert who lives in the apartment building.

A state police fire marshal said he believes the fire started in the attic on the third floor of the building. Emergency crews are trying to figure out who started the fire.
