Fire Destroys Centre County Family's Home, Business

A home and business were destroyed in an overnight fire in Aaronsburg.

Fire crews fought the blaze for nearly 5 hours Monday night and were back at the scene Tuesday morning putting out hot spots at the home on Route 45.

Crews said everything in the home and the family business in the basement was destroyed. They said just a small section of an attached garage, including the walls and roof was left, but two vehicles inside the garage were charred.

The homeowners were trying to catch a return flight home from Mexico on Tuesday. Crews said several family pets died in the blaze.

A state fire marshal was at the scene overnight and is expected to return later Tuesday. Stay with WJACTV.com and WJAC-TV News for continuing coverage.
