ALTOONA, Pa. —

Firefighters battled a blaze for hours Thursday at a home along Mill Run Road in Logan Township.

The blaze started around 11:30 Thursday morning. Fire officials said it was sparked in the garage, which was loaded with propane and gasoline tanks. The garage was attached to the home.

The fire tore through other parts of the home, making it to the roof.

The couple, who lived in the home, their disabled son, and family dog all made it out of the house safely.

Fire officials said the additions and partitions for handicapped accessibility and the heat made it difficult for firefighters to maneuver inside the home.

Officials said the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but the fire marshal was still investigating Thursday afternoon.
