Officials said the Cassville Restaurant and Cassville Superette were both destroyed in a fire that started just after 1 a.m. Friday.
The fire happened on the eve of the Cassville Fire Department's Oktoberfest celebration. Much of the festival's food was stored in the Superette, and officials on Friday were scrambling to keep the festival going.
The fire marshal is investigating the blaze. Stay with Channel 6 News and WJACTV.com for continuing coverage.
