Four Teens Injured In Clearfield County Crash

Four teenagers were injured in a one-car crash Tuesday evening in Clearfield County.

The crash happened on a secluded state forest road in Huston Township around 8 p.m. Police said five teens were in the car when the drivers lost control on the gravel. The car skidded more than 100 feet before crashing into a tree and flipping over.

The 16-year-old driver was not injured, but his four passengers were taken to Dubois Regional Medical Center then airlifted to trauma centers.

Police said the speed limit on the road is 25 miles per hour, and said the driver was most likely speeding.

Residents said No. 7 Road is a popular shortcut between Penfield and Kersey in Elk County, and said many drivers speed on it.

"Unfortunately I think teens feel they're invincible and, once they get behind the wheel, they have all the power so they don't take the time to watch their speed and be responsible for their actions," said Debbie Nestor, of Clearfield County.
