Four-Year-Old Bedford County Missing Persons Case Closed

EVERETT, Pa. —

Marion Sipes, 74, of West Providence, a small town outside of Everett, Pa, went missing on March 5, 2006. Days later, Maryland State Police found her car, but there was no sign of her.

The case reopened this weekend when two teenagers hiking in Green Ridge State Park found human remains. Police have not identified them as Marion Sipes, but Police said they did find her checkbook and jewelry. The crime scene is deep into the woods about 7 miles off of Interstate 68.

Neighbors said it's a sad ending, but they're glad it is coming to a close for Sipes' family and friends.
