What happened to Song is still a mystery. She went to a Halloween party in 2001, stopping at her State College-area apartment briefly, and was never seen again. Police continue to investigate the case but have no new leads. Hugo Selenski bragged about killing Song years ago and several dead bodies were found on his farm in northern Pennsylvania, but police were never able to verify whether Cindy was one of them.
