Dozens of firefighters and paramedics took part in a procession to honor 42-year-old Bob Mann, who was chief of the Howard Fire Department.
Mann died Monday morning while trimming trees alone in a remote area.
In addition to being fire chief, Mann was a dedicated community volunteer and wrestling coach.
The assistant fire chief for Howard said the procession's turnout showed an overwhelming support for the family. Neighboring fire departments were taking emergency calls Thursday to relieve the Howard department.
