Gas prices are up for the 13th straight day, and experts said it won't be long until they pass $4 a gallon.

At the Sunoco gas station in Richland Township, 6 News was there as a worker changed the price sign to $3.95 a gallon. Prices have already soared past $4 in some states and gas prices are expected to become more of a political issue as the presidential campaign kicks into high gear.

A Gallup poll this month found that 85 percent of Americans believe President Barack Obama and Congress should take immediate action to try and control the rising price of gasoline.

Wednesday morning in Oklahoma, Obama addressed the southern portion of the controversial Keystone Oil Pipeline project. Obama said the original proposal from Canada planned to have the pipeline run near drinking water lines in Nebraska, and Obama said the project needed to be studied further.

"Today we're making the push from Cushing to the Gulf our priority," Obama said, adding that officials need "to make sure the safety of the American people is protected."

Republicans said Obama's move is a political stunt and Americans need to be drilling more in the U.S. The president argued that his administration has opened up more gas and oil exploration, but it is not a quick fix to high gas prices.
