Governor Rendell Requests Deadline Change

It seemed clear on Wednesday that Governor Rendell didn't think extending the deadline to accept overseas ballots was necessary. Since then, he's faced angry voters and pressure from the Republican party led by Rick Santorum. Today he announced plans to ask a Federal Judge to extend the deadline until November 9th.

He claims his change of heart isn't political waivering, claiming that when he made comments on Wednesday that overseas voters could download ballots, there still would have been enough time for the ballots to be mailed and arrive in the states by November 2nd. But it took until today to confirm that there was one soldier in Iraq who never recieved a ballot. With only 4 days until the election Rendell says the extension is necessary for that soldier.
