Mount Nittany Ranks High Among Hospitals for Inpatient Satisfaction

April 29, 2011

Mount Nittany Medical Center’s mission is to provide its patients with the finest, patient-centered care, and recent patient surveys show the Medical Center is achieving its goal.

For the first quarter of 2011, the Press Ganey Inpatient Satisfaction Survey ranked the Medical Center in the 97th percentile of hospitals in American Hospital Association (AHA) Region 2, which is a group of comparable hospitals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

The survey also ranked the Medical Center in the 96th percentile of hospitals with 150-299 beds and in the 95th percentile of Large Press Ganey hospitals, as determined by Press Ganey. Results of the survey were derived from the responses of 845 patients. An ice cream social was held on April 28 for all employees, volunteers and medical staff to celebrate the Press Ganey inpatient survey results.

For more than 25 years, Press Ganey has worked with healthcare organizations, including hospitals, medical practices and home health agencies, to improve the overall healthcare experience for patients. Currently it works with more than 10,000 organizations, including 50 percent of all hospitals in the United States.
