Hearing Set For Mother Accused Of Killing Newborn

A Johnstown woman accused of killing her newborn baby was expected to appear in court Wednesday.

Jennifer Strelink McKenree was charged with third-degree murder after her parents discovered the baby wrapped in a plastic bag in the basement of their Moxham home.

McKenree, who gave birth in the bathroom, said she blacked out after the baby was born. She said when she woke up, the child was dead.

Several medical and police witnesses are expected to testify at the preliminary hearing.
