CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. --

Though Breast Cancer Awareness Month is winding down, that hasn't stopped fund raising efforts across the Allegheny region to benefit research.

In Cambria County, two high school students are spearheading an effort that will benefit the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center.

The Forest Hills students raised $4,000 by selling "Pink Out" shirts, and celebrated their accomplishment Friday morning by having the students form a giant pink ribbon at the high school.

"The younger generations are getting involved and it's important for girls of their age to know that they should take care of their breast health starting young.    And to raise this awareness -- even if just one person goes out and gets a mammogram or gets checked by their doctor -- they've done their job," said Patty Felton, director of the center.

Representatives from the center were on hand to accept the students' donation.
