High Winds Cause Johnstown Building To Crumble

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

Johnstown Police rope a safe area around a vacant building at the corner of Vine and Franklin Streets in downtown Johnstown.

Police Chief Craig Foust said an emergency call came in Thursday night that the wind was causing windows to shatter and bricks and debris to fall from the roof.

Building owners just purchased the building and plan to do a $3 million dollar renovation.

the problem is the building is falling apart, but owners tell WJAC-TV the building is structurally sound and owners will take care of the falling debris.

In the meantime Police warn folks to stand clear of the area.
