Johnstown, Pa --

After two years without hockey and months of speculation, the city of Johnstown appears to be getting a full-time team back at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

6 News confirmed through Alaska Avalanche owner Mark Lee that he sold his team to a Johnstown-based group and will begin play at the War Memorial Arena next season.

We’ve been told a press conference will be held next week to discuss, among other things, the team’s name.

6 News has learned the majority owner of the team is ESMARK.

Bill Keegan, Director of Marketing Communications, told us there have been some premature comments but confirmed that ESMARK is a majority owner.

The NAHL consists of 28 teams across North America and is considered one of the top junior leagues.

Alums include Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks and Patrick Kane of the Boston Bruins.

The league consists of mainly 18 to 20 year olds and play runs from September to early-April.
