Holiday Travelers Unenthusiastic

Related

Traditionally, Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel times of the year for Americans.

But as the weekend kicked off, many drivers said they're unsure if the roads will actually be that busy.

Why? The main reason is high gas prices, of course.

Last year at this time, gas prices ranged from $1.99 to $2.15 per gallon. Currently, the average in Johnstown is anywhere from $2.79 to $2.89.

However, high gas prices are only part of the frustrations. Some drivers also complained that ongoing construction leads to long delays -- and lots of stress.

Drivers are advised to allow plenty of extra time. As with most holidays, police will have extra patrols out to enforce speeding and seatbelt laws.
