Home Heating Oil Office Damaged By Electrical Fire

KARTHUS, Pa. —

Investigators determined that an electrical malfunction was responsible for sparking a fire that severely damaged the Lucas Oil office in Karthus on Sunday evening.

Donna Lucas told WJAC-TV that customers and neighbors have been stopping by to help clean up the mess.

"You deal with them almost 20 years and they're like friends. Sometimes it's like a voice on the phone, but we talk with them regularly," said Lucas.

"They're almost like family," said owner Herbert Lucas.

The fire was ruled accidental and caused at least an estimated $300,000 in damages.

The Lucas' said daily operations will be delayed for the next few days, but crews will continue delivering home heating oil and that they will rebuild.
