Homeowner: Hundreds Of Gallons Of Oil Pumped Into House After Delivery Mix-Up

A Cambria County homeowner is cleaning up a massive mess after an apparent mistake by an oil delivery company.

The homeowner said Ray Oil Gas Co. of Portage pumped about 200 gallons of heating oil into his home because the delivery driver got the address wrong.

State officials are assessing the scene for environmental damage at the house, which is just outside the South Fork line. The homeowner said the Department of Environmental Protection also responded and he was instructed to evacuate his home. As of Friday afternoon, the man did not know when he would be able to return.

The homeowner said he got rid of his oil tanks because he no longer uses his oil furnace. Officials at Ray Oil had no comment.
