Homes, Businesses Burglarized In Centre County

State police in Centre County are investigating a string of burglaries along Route 550 in the Port Matilda and Stormstown areas.

Brother's Pizza and 21st Century Appraisals, which are housed in the same building in Halfmoon Township, were burglarized overnight Friday into Saturday.

David Barr, who has owned the building for 32 years, said he'd never been burglarized before.

He said the burglars broke through a window, rummaged through his office and found keys for the pizza shop. The burglars took cash and checks and also caused damage by kicking in the door, police said.

Sunday night, police said there was another rash of burglaries at homes on Centennial, Cornfield and Smith Lanes, all roads that lead to Route 550 in the Stormstown area.

A corporal with the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Philipsburg said investigators believe all of the burglaries are connected.

Anyone with information is asked to call 342-3370.
