House Fire Ruled Accidental

HASTINGS, Pa. —

A judge has ruled that Penelec is not liable for a fire more than four years ago which claimed four lives.

In 2005 a woman, her grandson, and two visitors were killed when a fire broke out at a Hastings home. The fire was sparked by a candle that was lit because power had been shut off in the home. The fire was ruled accidental.

Meanwhile, a lawyer representing the victims' family says they plan to appeal the judge's decision.
