A car you've just bought could have been covered in flood waters, mud and sand. It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. Car buyers getting stuck with a vehicle that was damaged in a flood. According to the Attorney General's office, anyone selling a car has to tell you that it was damaged in a flood. The AG's office has seen a few cases where this didn't happened. A car damaged by flooding can have problems with mold, it's electrical system, and even rust. But how can you tell if the car you're buying, or you've just bought, was already damaged if it looks so clean?

Barry Creany is with the Attorney General's Office. He tells Channel 6 News, "I think a car that has quite a few miles on it, if you see new carpet in it, if you see some of the signs that its been changed over or reupholstered, those are things you've gotta question. But with any used vehicle we always recommend the people rely on a mechanics evaluation of it."

Creany says if you have a problem go back to the dealer and explain the problem or call AGs office.
