Hundreds Of Chainsaw Carvers Attend Elk County Festival

RIDGWAY, Pa. —

Hundreds of people are in Elk County this week for a very unique annual festival.

Organizers said around 200 chainsaw carvers are at this year's Ridgway Chainsaw Rendezvous.

The carvers create intricate carvings out of ordinary logs.

Carvers are in Ridgway from across the state, nation and even the world.

In fact, people have traveled from places like Norway, Sweden, Germany and Great Britain.

Organizers said plenty of people have come to see the carvers.

They're attributing the good attendance to sunny weather this week.

The festival runs through the end of the week.

It wraps up Saturday with an auction where the carvers will sell off their carvings.
