Hunt Of A Lifetime Fundraiser Set For Elk County

ST. MARYS, Pa. —

Hunters and anglers in Elk County are raising money for a group aimed at helping terminally ill kids.

Hunt of a Lifetime provides hunting and fishing trips for children dealing with serious illnesses.

On Sunday, the St. Marys Sportman's Club and the Bucktail Archers will raise money for the group with a 3-D target shoot.

An Indiana County man, assisting with this weekend's fundraiser, has a personal connection to Hunt of a Lifetime.

Randy Davis accompanied his son on a New Mexico elk trip in 2004. Brett Davis had been diagnosed with leukemia.

About eight weeks after bagging an Elk, Brett Davis died.

Since then, helping kids has become Brett's father's passion.

Randy Davis now serves as the Western Pennsylvania ambassador for Hunt of a Lifetime.

"They spare no expense," he said. "They pay for the meat processing, taxidermy and kids can go anywhere in the world."

Hunt of a Lifetime holds fundraisers across the country every year.

The St. Marys fundraiser is set for Sunday.
