Huntingdon County

Flooding - it's been an on-going concern most of this year with all the rainy weather we've had to deal with.

Now, the combination of rain and melting snow has created more than a concern in Huntingdon County.

Around Huntingdon Borough, Stone Creek flooded several roads this morning, forcing the Huntingdon School District to cancel classes. There was also high water along the Juniata River. To the east - the Mount Union School District dismissed early because of flooding on the Aughwick Creek. High water covering Route 655 caused a three vehicle accident, the truck involved was carrying batteries. Authorities have closed that highway temporarily until HAZMAT crews can clean up the spilled battery acid. Channel 6 News will have more on the flooding situation tonight on Channel 6 News at Five.
