Icy Road Conditions Expected For Christmas Eve

Dropping temperatures are expected to affect Christmas Eve road conditions.

PennDOT is warning drivers that slushy roads may become icy again after nightfall. A number of roads were closed early Wednesday due to icy road conditions along Route 22 along Cresson Mountain, Sugar Run Road, I-99 between the Frankstown and Pinecroft exits, and Old 22.

Another concern is as temperatures drop, fog will rise. Drivers are reminded to put their headlights on low beam and drive a safe distance from surrounding cars.

PennDOT crews will be on call 24/7 Christmas Day.
