Increased Funds For Senior Centers

There's good news for seniors in Cambria County: More funding has been allocated for the county's senior activity centers.

The county's credit rating has improved, prompting officials to refinance bond issues and stabilize the budget.

The county then put the activity centers on the books, allowing the funding that was used to pay those mortgages to be put back into senior services.

Commissioners said the funding will also help reduce waiting lists for Meals-On-Wheels and in-home care.
