Indiana County Christmas Tree Farm Helps Those Serving In Military

An area Christmas tree farm is doing its part to brighten the holiday season for men and women serving in the military.

The Fleming's Christmas tree farm on Wednesday prepared a number of its trees for shipment to U.S. military bases across the world.

The project was started by the National Tree Growers Association and this is the second year that Fleming has participated.

"Last year they shipped out 11,000 trees to our servicemen and this is just a small thing we can do to help servicemen enjoy the holidays," said J.D. Fleming of Fleming's Christmas Trees.

Fleming said the trees will be displayed in mess halls, recreation areas and to some family homes on U.S. military bases.
